Supported Keyboard Layouts & Key Maps
NepaliKit Typing natively supports three primary standard keyboard layouts. Review the visual key mappings below to learn finger placement, regular characters, and Shift combinations.
1. Nepali Unicode (Traditional MPP)
The government-certified layout designed for touch typing in Nepal. Key assignments follow natural frequency of Devanagari characters.
Press Shift to type conjuncts and aspirated consonants such as क्, ख्, थ्, ध्, ज्ञ, त्र, and long vowels like आ, ई, ऊ.
Type consonant + Halant (D/S/T/etc.) to build custom half-letters and ligatures in authentic Devanagari script.
2. Nepali Romanized (Phonetic)
Designed for users accustomed to standard English keyboards. Type what it sounds like (e.g. nepal yields नेपाल).
3. English QWERTY
Standard international 104-key US English QWERTY keyboard for global communication and code development.
